What about the other lenticular effects

Lenticular print is an effective mean of communication thanks to its well known classic effects:

  1. the ability to change the way the image appears from different angles (flip)
  2. 3D vision without glasses.

> Chromescence® can be considered as new effect that can be used :

  • alone to create a new iridescent effect
  • or combined with other lenicular effects(changing pictures and / or 3D).

At the best resolution (150 lpi) the lenses are thinner than the pixels of an Apple Macbook screen (133 pixels per inch). With 170 µ wide they are almost invisible.

 

Large lenses (10 lpi or 0.1 inch wide) make it possible large formats to be viewed from a distance.

Implementation with a

lenticular material

A lenticulair material is transparent sustrate whose one of the faces is constituted by cylindrical lenses. Alone these lenses form a microstructure.

Therefore the Chromescence® method can be implemented by printing lines of similar width on the opposite side.

> Optical properties of the lenses allows a higher iridescence contrast effect than what can be achieved with the transparent substrate (Implementation 1).
